• General description: Magnesium chloride solution is suitable for the optimization of polymerase chain reactions (PCR). Magnesium chloride acts as a source of magnesium ions for polymerase chain reactions (PCR). It influences the primer-template annealing temperature, fidelity, specificity, and yield. Excess amounts of magnesium can cause an increase in nonspecific products, while lack of magnesium can lead to reduced yield.
• Application: Magnesium chloride solution has been used as a component of the:amplification mixture for polymerase chain reaction (PCR)[1]amplification mixture in an inter simple sequence repeats (ISSR)-PCR[2]reaction buffer in 16S-23S rRNA gene internal transcribed spacer (ITS) PCR amplification and restriction analysis (ITS-PCR-RFLP)[3]PCR master mix for quantitative reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (qRT PCR) to amplify reversely transcribed cDNA[4]reaction mix for RT-PCR to assess the gene expression[5]
