Description

  • General description: Tumor necrosis factor ligand superfamily member 13 (UniProt: Q9D777; also known as A proliferation-inducing ligand; APRIL; CD256) is encoded by the Tnfsf13 (also known as APRIL) gene (Gene ID: 69583) in mouse. APRIL is a secreted cytokine of the tumor necrosis family and is present in T cells, B cells, dendritic cells, monocytes, and macrophages. April exists as a functional homotrimer, but can form functional heterotrimers with B cell activating factor (BAFF). APRIL stimulates T and B cell proliferation and it exerts T and B cell regulatory effects by binding to TNFRSF17 (BCMA) and TNFRSF13B (TACI) receptors. It is also involved in monocyte/macrophage-mediated immunological processes. It also plays a role in the regulation of tumor cell growth and can induce apoptosis through its interaction with other TNF receptor family proteins such as TNFRSF6/FAS and TNFRSF14/HVEM. APRIL can serve as as a potential biomarker and its serum levels are shown to be elevated for certain cancers and expression levels elevated in cancer tissues.
  • Specificity: Clone A3D8 detects TNFSF13/APRIL in human peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMC).
  • Immunogen: A full length recombinant fusion protein of murine maltose binding protein (MBP) and soluble APRIL.
  • Application: Detect TNFSF13 using this armenian hamster monoclonal Anti-TNFSF13 (APRIL) antibody, clone A3D8, Cat. No. MABC1031, validated for use in Flow Cytometry.
  • Quality: Evaluated by Flow Cytometry in human PBMC cells.Flow Cytometry Analysis: 1 µg of this antibody detected TNFSF13 in human PBMC cells.
  • Target description: 26.89 kDa calculated.
  • Physical form: Format: Purified
  • Storage and Stability: Stable for 1 year at 2-8°C from date of receipt.
