• Specificity: Clone 1J12 is a ZooMAb® recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibody that specifically detects SLC18A1 protein. It targets an epitope within 20 amino acids from the C-terminal cytoplasmic domain of the protein.
• Immunogen: KLH-conjugated linear peptide corresponding to 20 amino acids from the C-terminal cytoplasmic domain of human SLC18A1.

• Target description: Solute carrier family 18 member 1 (UniProt: P54219; also known as Vesicular amine transporter 1) is encoded by SLC18A1 (also known as VAT1, VMAT1) gene (Gene ID: 6570) in human. It is a multi pass membrane and is primarily expressed in neuroendocrine tissues. SLC18A1 has been localized in adrenal chromaffin cells, endocrine and paracrine cells associated with the intestine, stomach and sympathetic nervous system. SLC18A1 protein is primarily responsible for the transport of neurotransmitters, such as dopamine, norepinephrine, and serotonin, into synaptic vesicles. It accumulates cytosolic monoamines into vesicles based on the proton gradient. SLC18A1 plays a crucial role in the regulation of neurotransmission and is particularly important in the context of neurological and psychiatric disorders. Research on SLC18A1 continues to provide valuable insights into the mechanisms underlying various brain functions and the pathophysiology of related disorders. This ZooMAb® recombinant monoclonal antibody, generated by our proprietary technology, offers significantly enhanced specificity, affinity, reproducibility, and stability over conventional monoclonals.
• Physical form: Purified recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibody IgG, lyophilized in PBS with 5% Trehalose, normal appearance a coarse or translucent resin. The PBS/trehalose components in the ZooMAb formulation can have the appearance of a semi-solid (bead like gel) after lyophilization. This is a normal phenomenon. Please follow the recommended reconstitution procedure in the data sheet to dissolve the semi-solid, bead-like, gel-appearing material. The resulting antibody solution is completely stable and functional as proven by full functional testing. Contains no biocide or preservatives, such as azide, or any animal by-products. Larger pack sizes provided as multiples of 25 µL.
• Reconstitution: 30 µg/mL after reconstitution at 25 µL per vial. Please refer to guidance on suggested starting dilutions and/or titers per application and sample type.
• Storage and Stability: Recommend storage of lyophilized product at 2-8°C; Before reconstitution, micro-centrifuge vials briefly to spin down material to bottom of the vial; Reconstitute each vial by adding 25 µL of filtered lab grade water or PBS; Reconstituted antibodies can be stored at 2-8°C, or -20°C for long term storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaws.
