Description
- General description: Interleukin-10 (IL-10) is an immunosuppressive cytokine produced by a variety of mammalian cell types including macrophages, monocytes, T cells and B cells.[1] Murine IL-10 is inactive on human cells.[2] The gene encoding this protein is localized on human chromosome 1q31-32.[3]
- Immunogen: Recombinant Human IL-10
- Application: For research use only. Not for use in diagnostic procedures.Human IL-10 ELISA kit has been used for determining the levels of IL-10 in cell culture supernatant. [4][5]
- Biochem/physiol Actions: IL-10 (interleukin 10) is an anti-inflammatory cytokine.[7] IL-10 inhibits the expression of proinflammatory cytokines such as IL-1 and TNF (tumor necrosis factor)-α.[8] Like IL-4, IL-10 enhances humoral immune responses and attenuates cell-mediated immune reactions.[9] Polymorphisms in the IL-10 gene are associated with higher risk of preeclampsia, ankylosing spondylitis, nasopharyngeal carcinoma and basal cell carcinoma.[10][11][12][13] Polymorphism in IL-10 at -1082A/G is associated with diabetic nephropathy.[7]
