- Specifically detects Lin28A clone: 2J3 in Human, Mouse samples, and it is validated for Immunoprecipitation, Western Blotting LIN28A is developmental expression modulator/enhancer and miRNA regulating protein expressed in the nucleus or cytoplasm depending upon the complex in stem cells and the developing animal
- As an enhancer, LIN28A works at the level of mRNA and drives specific mRNAs to polysomes and thus increasing protein synthesis
- LIN28A also enhances mRNA translation initiation and mRNA stability
- Developmentally LIN28A is essential for skeletal muscle differentiation programming, and LIN28A is also involved in various steps of liver embryogenesis and neuronal development as well
- With miRNA, LIN28A is important in ES stem cell maintenance or in differentiation such as in neural stem cells
- LIN28A binds specific sequences on miRNAs and mRNAs and regulates the expression through binding and interaction with additional proteins such as the uridylyltransferase complex of ZCCHC11/TUTA proteins
- Finally LIN28A is also a tumor marker and its overexpression is associated with multiple tumor types.
