- Application: L-Glutathione oxidized disodium salt has been used in 5,5′-dithiobis-(2-nitrobenzoic acid) (DTNB)/glutathione reductase enzyme recycling method to determine plasma or tissue glutathione levels.[1] It has also been used in NADPH-dependent glutathione disulfide reduction assay.[2]
- Biochem/physiol Actions: Oxidized L-glutathione is frequently measured in vivo as an indicator of oxidative stress.[3] Oxidized L-Glutathione may be converted to L-glutathione by various reducing systems.
