Description

  • General description: Chemical structure: aziridine
  • Application: A polyfunctional alkylating agent
  • Biochem/physiol Actions: The unstable nitrogen-carbon groups alkylate with DNA which causes irreversible DNA damage. They stop tumor growth by crosslinking guanine nucleobases in DNA double-helix strands, directly attacking DNA. The DNA strands are unable to uncoil and separate which halts cell division[1].
  • Analysis Note: Solubility - freely soluble in water , in chloroform and in ethanol (96%)
  • Other Notes: Keep container tightly closed in a dry and well-ventilated place.
