- General description: 16:0 TopFluor® cholesterol carries saturated acyl chains. Approximately 30-40% of the mammalian plasma membrane consists of cholesterol.[1] TopFluor® has a moiety, called dipyrromethene boron difluoride. This fluorescent molecule is covalently attached to various lipid molecules.[2]
- Application: 16:0 TopFluor® cholesterol may be used to study its diffusion with phospholipid analogs in model membrane in order to understand cholesterol dynamics at the nanoscale in biomembranes.[1]
