- General description: Phosphoethanolamine is a precursor to phosphatidylcholine and phosphatidylethanolamine.[1] Dabsyl-PE carries contains a dark quencher in the headgroup.[2]
- Biochem/physiol Actions: Phosphatidylethanolamine controls membrane fluidity in eukaryotic cells.[3] Phosphoethanolamine (PHOS) has the ability to repress tumour growth both in vitro and in vivo.[1] It possesses anticarcinogenic effects. It can also prevent the mRNA expression of cyclin D1 and vascular endothelial growth factor receptor 1 (VEGFR1).[4] Dabsyl-PE has the ability to quench superfolder green fluorescent protein, (SfGFP).[5]
