Description

• Transport and preserve microbiological clinical specimens using Thermo Scientific™ Remel™ PRAS Cary-Blair (VPI) (Pre-Reduced Anaerobic Sterilized) when anaerobic infections are suspected
• It is a modification of the original Cary Blair formula
• It is autoclaved in a reduced state and is maintained in an oxygen free environment 1,2
• The medium is tubed under strict oxygen-excluding conditions using a gas mixture to drive off any oxygen
• Tubes have a screw cap with a butyl rubber stopper as recommended by Hungate 3
