- TCAM-1/TRIF/MyD88-3 is as an adaptor molecule that mediates Toll-like receptor 3 (TLR3)-dependent NF-kB activation and cytokine expression
- Upon recognition of double-stranded RNA, TLR3 recruits TRIF, which in turn associates with TNF receptor-associated factor 3 (TRAF3) to activate two Ik-B kinase (IKK)-related kinases, TANK-binding kinase 1 (TBK1) and IKKi
